i guess 1% of grammarly users are geeks

that’s what you get for being loquacious!

it’d expect it to be faster. this is from an AWS Workspace connect to Netflix’s speedtest service.

are the engineers just having some fun with me? 😃

We did some digging on Glacier. Per the SEC, Glacier is not yet a D3P (Designated 3rd Party Compliance Provider). The Q&A below mentions this (from 2015):

Q: What AWS documentation supports the SEC 17a-4(f)(2)(i) and CFTC 1.31(c) requirement for notifying my regulator?
Provide notification to your regulator or "Designated Examining Authority (DEA)" of your choice to use AWS Glacier for electronic storage along with a copy of the Cohasset Assessment. For the purposes of these requirements, AWS is not a designated third party (D3P). Be sure to select a D3P and include this information in your notification to your DEA

This link and Assessment is very recent (11/26/18): <https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/architecture/amazon-s3-amazon-s3-glacier-launch-announcements-for-archival-workloads/>

It’s possible AWS S3 may offer D3P servicing in the near future. But it is unknown as the SEC is very tightlipped on just about everything.

oh wow, that's good to know! glad you shared

Yeah. I hope a magical announcement happens in the very near future 🙂 (likely not)

Guys, what is good to follow on Twitter related to our field ?

Thanks for the tweet links folks! and @Maarten van der Hoef for asking 🙂

yea, this is a real thorn in their side

it’s tarnishing googles quite amazing security reputation

It could have been worse, folks could actually be using G+ 😆

as one of our folks quipped, "wow, Google+ is still a thing? both users must be terribly disappointed" 😉

Sounds like pre-millenium co-lo installations!

welcome our latest emoji:

I have been thinking a lot about this lately in my day to day decisions

A lot of decisions are reversible I realize

Which has reduced my analysis paralysis

Yep, that's a great filter, so hard to explain to some folks that seem to think everything should always be perfect/right on the first try

Great newsletter/blog

http://seoi.net/penint/ - great drawing tool!

haha

hehe, I'm in love with https://mermaidjs.github.io at the moment, it should be possible to get the same result 🙂

And people wonder why github is slow sometimes.

What is this ?! 😂

lol

only 90ties kids will understand 🙂

Hah, I could be bought very inexpensively. Haven’t logged in for months.

this is neat!

you can now file different kinds of issues

ohh they cleaned up the ui for it

you could always have different issue templates but before they didn’t have the buttons

same thing with PR templates… you can have multiple templates but to pick the one you want you have ta pass a url parameter

i hope they clean the ui up for that as well during the process of creating a PR… be able to select the correct PR template you want

remove.bg

wow!!

that’s unbelievable

this is gonna save me so much time when I do my slides

@Erik Osterman (Cloud Posse) totally thought of you didn't want to ping late last night - but it's scary how quick and accurate it is!
