does it mean that you guys are not OK with the tools installation from the “PACKAGES-image” approach anymore? (I kinda liked it, BTW)

No we have no plans to deprecate the old method

It should still work

We will be updating it slightly, but interface won’t change

is anyone using ansible in geodesic? I am inclined to remove it.

We don’t promote it in any of our projects and it can always be installed with pip.
